CFW offers a range of custom-designed and manufactured batch dryers and calciners for the catalyst industry. Batch operated dryers are suitable for smaller production runs, or where greater flexibility is required. These models are not suitable for larger production runs, as the cycle speeds are low.

Most batch dryers use air systems with large recirculating fans, providing high flow volumes at low pressures. With proper insulation, these systems can provide good thermal efficiencies, but efficiency can be considerably reduced where the application demands complete exhaustion of the moist air. Batch units typically have low capital costs, while the running costs depend on the fan and heating system. Generally, energy costs are low, but relatively high labour costs are involved.
