Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and Handover
CFW Projects understands that any project involving a large capital expenditure requires testing in real operating conditions to determine whether it is functioning according to specification. We can provide all the necessary site acceptance testing and handover procedures as part of our turnkey projects management services.
Once it has been determined that the equipment adequately fulfils its purpose, the equipment can be accepted and a handover certificate signed. Site acceptance tests are conducted in collaboration with the customer, who owns the equipment once the site acceptance test has been approved.
SAT ensures that any problems are discovered while CFW still has full access to the equipment and our personnel and resources can deal with them speedily. The equipment can then be brought up to specification and retested so that production can be commenced without undue delays.
SAT involves testing the equipment in situ to ensure that it starts up smoothly and functions correctly.
Possible SAT activities include:
- Visual inspections of the equipment to ensure that it was not damaged during transportation.
- Component assembly or equipment integration.
- Verifying that the equipment conforms to the purchase order and other specifications.
- Starting up and running the equipment to ensure that it is still operating in the same way as in previous tests.
- Verifying that drawings, documents and other similar elements provided by the supplier are complete and appropriate.
A handover document is usually signed by the two parties once the SAT has been successfully completed.
