The function of catalyst washcoats is to provide a large surface area to which catalysts can adhere. The materials that are used are expensive and the costs that result from product losses that are entirely written off are often unacceptable. This has created a need for recovering washcoat solids for reuse, which involves the use of specialist drying equipment.

CFW Projects has created dryers for this purpose, based on our long experience with drying technology in general and the automotive catalyst production in particular. Units can be rented and or manufactured on request.
